Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled
by
Yeshua

Shalom to all.

Messiah Yeshua came to atone for the sins of both Jew and Gentile so that we can have a living, breathing relationship with the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. Yeshua fulfills every single prophesy of the Messiah as recorded in the Hebrew Scriptures. Yeshua was born a Jew--his legal father's (Joseph's) genealogy is found in Matthew chapter 1.

Man of sorrows who was wounded for our transgressions.

Tenakh/Hebrew Scripture

Isaiah 53:4-5, Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:10 says, Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, and he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

Isaiah 53:12 says, ...he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Isaiah 53:8, ...for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

II Corinthians 5:21..he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

I John 2:2, And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

I John 3:5, And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

I Peter 2:24, Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree [cross], that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Messiah is the Son of God.

Tenakh/Hebrew Scripture

Psalm 2:7, I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Proverbs 30:4, Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?

Br'it Chadashah/New Covenant

John 3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Luke 3, ...a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

Messiah cut off before destruction of the sanctuary.

Tenakh/Hebrew Scripture

Daniel 9:24-26, Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks: and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

The temple was destroyed in 70 A.D.--after the death of the Messiah.

Perfect sacrifice.

Tenakh/Hebrew Scripture

Leviticus 16 details how the priest is to give atonement for the sins of the people by shedding the blood of animals. These animals were substitutionary sacrifices. Moses's actions picture what Christ would do on the cross as the perfect sacrifice- deity in human form without sin and without blemish.

Br'it Chadashah/New Covenant

II Corinthians 5:21, For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

John 1:29, ...Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

I Peter 1:18-19, ...redeemed with...the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

Unlike the blood of goats which had to be offered once a year in atonement, Christ takes away our sins for eternity.

Born in Bethlehem.

Tenakh/Hebrew Scripture

Micah 5:2, But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

Br'it Chadashah/New Covenant

Luke 2:1, 4-7, ...there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. And Joseph also went up from Galilee out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son...

Born of a virgin.

Tenakh/Hebrew Scripture

Isaiah 7:14, Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [meaning God with us-Matthew 1:23].

Br'it Chadashah/New Covenant

Luke 1:26-27, 31,34-35, ...the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, Named Nazareth, to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David...(and the angel said)...behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS..Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (See Matthew chapters 1 and 2 and Luke chapters 1 and 2.)

(ASIDE: Catholicism has unscripturally exalted the role of Mary. She is not to be worshipped and neither are saints or statues).

His messenger sent before Him.

Tenakh/Hebrew Scripture

Malachi 3:1, Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

Isaiah 40:3, The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Br'it Chadashah/New Covenant

Matthew 3:1-3, In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, and saying, "Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Matthew 3:11 (John speaking), I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worth to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.

When the Pharisees asked who he was, John explained in John 1:23, "I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias."

Rejected by Israel.

Tenakh/Hebrew Scripture

Isaiah 8:14, And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Psalm 118:22-23, The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

Isaiah 28:16, Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation...

Br'it Chadashah/New Covenant

I Corinthians 1:22-24, For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: but we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jew a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; but unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Read Jesus' parable of the householder from Matthew 21:33-46:

33. Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:

34. And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.

35. And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

36. Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.

37. But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.

38. But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.

39. And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.

40. When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?

41. They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

42. Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

43. Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

44. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

45. And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.

46. But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.

There are Jews that believe in Jesus as Messiah. However, it is very clear that today, Israel, as a nation, has rejected Christ. At end of this page are links to Christian Jewish Foundation and Jews for Jesus.

The Gentiles believe.

Tenakh/Hebrew Scripture

Isaiah 55:5, Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.

Malachi 1:11, For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles...for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts.

Isaiah 60:3, And the Gentiles shall come to thy light...

Isaiah 65:1, I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.

Psalm 2:8, (speaking of the Son in verse 7) Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost part of the earth for thy possession.

Hosea 2:23, ...I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.

Hosea 1:10, ...and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

Galatians 3:13-14, Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree: that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Acts 28:28, Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

A new covenant. Exchanging the law for grace.

Tenakh/Hebrew Scripture

Jeremiah 31:31-34, Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: but this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people...they shall know me...for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Br'it Chadashah/New Covenant

Galatians 3:22, But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

II Corinthians 5:19, To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them...

Romans 7:6, 7 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law...

Silent before His accusers.

Tenakh/Hebrew Scripture

Isaiah 53:7, He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Br'it Chadashah/New Covenant

John 19:9-10, ...[Pilate] saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer. Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me?

Romans 3:29-30, Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith (in Jesus).

Acts 1:8, ...and ye shall be witnesses unto me [Jesus] both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Romans 1:16, For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Died with criminals and was buried in a rich man's grave.

Tenakh/Hebrew Scripture

Isaiah 53:9, And he made his grave with the wicked and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

Br'it Chadashah/New Covenant

Jesus was crucified with two thieves (Luke 23:33-43). When He was buried, a rich man, Joseph of Arimathea, laid Him in his own brand new tomb (Matthew 27:57-60).

Mocked and spitefully entreated.

Tenakh/Hebrew Scripture

Isaiah 50:6, I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

Br'it Chadashah/New Covenant

Pontus Pilate had Jesus scourged (Matthew 27:26) and people spit, hit, slapped, mocked (Matthew 26:67-68) a whole band of soldiers mocked and hit him (Matthew 27:27-31).

Body did not corrupt--rose from the dead.

Death by crucifixion.

Tenakh/Hebrew Scripture

Psalm 22:16, ...they pierced my hands and my feet. (crucifixion was not a method of death in Israel at the time that this was written hundreds of years before Christ.)

Br'it Chadashah/New Covenant

Matthew 27:35, And they crucified him...

Gambled for His clothing.

Tenakh/Hebrew Scripture

Psalm 22:18, They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

Br'it Chadashah/New Covenant

John 19:23-24, Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.
