Only One Saviour!

There is an inherent sadness in the voices of many unbelievers as they revile Christianity. But it is a sadness laced with anger. While we readily recognize the anger in the things which they say, it takes careful observation to see that this anger is not so much directed at Christians, as it is towards God. They most often say things like, "If there is a God, why do children die, or why is there wars, or why is there so much suffering in the world." Their logic or thinking being, if there really was a God, He would certainly not allow this. But what they don't 'realize' is that they are trying to make a god of their own design, fashioned after what 'they' think is best for Him to do.

Of course this is man creating in his mind an image of God after the precepts of man. It's an attempt to create a god, instead of receiving the "God of the Bible." They don't understand that man was created in the image of God, not the other way around. God defines who He is, not Man! It is foolish for us to say, "this is how we think God should be." God is who He is, and He is not subject to man, man is subject to God. God doesn't have to answer to man, man has to answer to GOD. Questions like, "why did God put me here if He's going to send me to Hell," is the arrogant and evident rebellion in man's heart which is what is really sending him to Hell. No one goes to Hell for any wrong doing on God's part, but for 'their own' wrong doing! We are judged each man for his own sin, not for anyone else's.

God is the divine creator of heaven and earth, Holy, True, and Trustworthy. It is utterly foolish for man to question God as if He were a suspect of some kind of crime. But this is the warped thinking of man. An analogy would be like a criminal saying to a 'righteous' judge:

"Sure I killed someone, and sure, I knew better, but that's the way I was born. Can I help it if I enjoy killing? That I was born doesn't mean that I deserve to be punished because I enjoy killing, because I didn't ask to be born!"
Shall the righteous Judge 'wink' at his reasoning and set him free? Shall he say to the man:
"You are right, you didn't ask to be born, and so you're not responsible for killing anyone?"
Not at all! That would not be righteous judgment or charity, that would be unrighteousness and injustice. You see, it's not God who is unrighteous in His judgments of man, it is man who 'likes his sin,' and doesn't want to have to pay for those crimes against God. And it's not God who is causing all the sufferings in this world, it is man himself. Man is rebellious and wants to do whatever his imagination can conjure up. And then in the rationalizations of his soul, he tries to blame God for it, saying, "why am I judged because I sin?" But who is man to argue with God Almighty? The Word of God declares:

     Romans 9:20

  • "Nay but O MAN, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to HIM that formed it, why hast thou made me thus?"

In other words, who are we to argue against God for what He does? The answer is, we are nobody to be replying against God, or arguing with Him that we know what's right and have decided that He is wrong to judge us! And until we get that through our thick skulls, we have no chance of escaping the judgment. Salvation begins at 'that point.' It's the realization that you can do nothing to escape the punishment that you so rightly deserve, and that you can but 'confess' your sins before God, 'agree' that you are guilty, and throw yourself upon the Mercies of God the Judge. And he (who cannot lie) says He will have compassion on you.

    1st John 1:8-10

  • "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
  • If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
  • If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

Deny we are sinners under judgment and we have no forgiveness. But if we confess our sins to God, He will abundantly 'pardon' you through the shed blood of Christ. This is His Gift to us. Ask, and it shall be given unto you. If you don't ask for it, then how can you complain when you don't get it? it makes no sense! If you are too proud to humble yourself and beg forgiveness of God for your transgressions against Him, then why grumble at God when you don't get this forgiveness of sins? The sin of pride is like a festering, bacteria laden, pus filled sore, that will never heal and will eventually destroy you. For the Lord has declared that He resisteth the proud.

     James 4:6-8

  • "But He giveth more Grace. Wherefore He saith, God Resisteth the proud, but giveth Grace unto the Humble.
  • Submit yourselves therefore to God. resist the Devil, and he will flee from you,
  • draw near to God and He will draw near to you..."

We have the promise that if we submit ourselves before God, get down on our knees (Humble Ourselves) and confess our guiltiness, in supplication asking, "Lord Forgive me, a miserable rotten sinner," the Lord is 'faithful' to forgive and to answer our prayers. And so the question is not, "Why am I judged for my sins," the question is, God has made the promise of forgiveness, why don't I receive it? That is the question for man. Our God is a God of Mercy, why won't we receive that promise of Mercy?

But make no mistake, just as the Lord is Merciful, He is also a God of Wrath. If you seek Him, you shall find Him, if you don't seek Him, He shall judge you. If you don't believe it, just pick up the Old Testament scriptures and start reading. I've got news for some people! There is no 'new and improved God' of the New Testament, that's the exact same God, and He will bring righteous judgment upon the unrighteous. Jesus made that abundantly clear. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth come judgment day. Some people are just not listening, choosing instead to 'mentally' edit Holy canon.

The Idea in some church circles that God will Save everyone in the world is just as foolish and carnal as the idea that there is no God. It also stems from that same rebellious desire of man to "create god" in his own image. To create a god who is like he would like Him to be, not as He is recorded in Holy writ.

The bottom line in this question is that man 'likes' his sin, but he intuitively also knows there is a God (it's inherently instilled within us) so he wants to escape judgment also. So his thought is to make his god after the imagination of his own heart. A god who will allow him to do both. A god where all he has to do is say, "I'm a Christian," and that makes everything all right. But you see, he has then deceived himself! That type of Christian is not really a Christian at all, because he doesn't know God, nor is he known of Him. And a Church preaching that kind of gospel is not really a true Church. The Church of God is more than a name! God says of those who profess to know Him, but in reality are merely deluding themselves..

     1st John 2:4

  • "He that says he knows me and keepeth not My commandments is a Liar and the truth is not in him."

That is strong stuff, but that is what God says! So who are we going to listen to? Our Church, our Pastor, our religions leaders, traditions, Ourselves, or God? Our Pastor cannot Save us, and neither can any of the other religions of the world that many people find so fresh, exotic or mind expanding. Religion doesn't Save people, only God can!

I judge no man, I leave that up to God, but putting our faith in the Corporate church is folly of the highest order. It's the indivisible Church (which is the body of 'true' believers ruled by Christ), that is the body of Christ. There are many denominations with true believers in them. There may be some believers in this church, or that other church, or this one over here, we don't know. Because although some corporate churches may have things wrong, it's possible some members trust in Jesus as their Saviour, even though their church may be unfaithful. It's not our Job as Christians to judge other people on the point of, "if they are Saved or not." On the Other hand, false religions can never Save! This we know! God has said there is 'Only One Way to Salvation.' It's not the baptist Church, it's not the Catholic Church, and it's not the Presbyterian Church, that 'one way' is through Christ. Any one in Christ is His Church, and has been redeemed from the penalty of sin.

Sin, must be punished. And the penalty for sin is death. Since we all sin, No one will escape, for God the Judge is not unjust like man the judge. Justice "must" be served, thus the penalty must be paid. There is no Probation, there is no time off for good behaviour, and there is no suspended sentence. A Holy and just judge demands that Justice must be served. The wages for sin must be paid.

Consequently, there is only one faith that answers, "The Sin Question!" The Christian faith! Only one God answers the question of how can this punishment of death that justice demands, be satisfied. The God of the Christian Bible! No other god, religion, or philosophy, be it far east, near east, middle east or west, answers the dreaded "Sin Question." Only one offers 'The Way' of payment for sin that God absolutely requires. Christianity is a God/Man, a substitute who has come unto us, taking upon Himself all our sins, which leaves us clean (without sin) in the eyes of God. Laden with our sins He willingly suffered and died for us, that we might escape death. No 'winking' at sin by God is possible because His Justice demands payment.

    Romans 6:23

  • "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

The wages of sin is death, it's not Purgatory, it's not not reincarnation, it's not to be made to stand in the corner, but death! No mere man could do What Christ did. No Philosophy could change what was required. It Would take a "God Man" to stand in our place, pay, and be raised up afterward free from sin, and have that efficacy rest upon all those who believe. It took God, because no mortal man could go to the cross with the sins of the world and survive. God himself sent His Holy Spirit to bring forth God, born of man. God would take on the flesh through Mary so that he could take on our sins in the flesh of man. Since it was man who sinned, man had to be the one to suffer. He who knew no sin, became sin (our sin) for us.

    2nd Corinthians 5:21

  • "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

God made Himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men (Philippians 2:7), that He could be made sin for us, pay the penalty of death, and be raised again without that sin!

He is the Firstborn from the dead, that we could follow. He had to be God to see it through to the finish, and He had to be man because man sinned, man had to be the one to pay. Only a God as Man could qualify as saviour, to have us in Him, pay our judgment, and be raised again with the Judgment satisfied, that we are without those sins.

In The History of the world, there is only one recorded GOD/MAN. The Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Besides God (-Hos.3:4), there is no Saviour!

     Acts 4:12

  • "Neither is there Salvation in any other: for there is none other Name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be Saved".

He is the only one who could pay for the sins of His people. It had to be that way, for it is written, only God could be the Saviour. Since there is only one God, there is only one Saviour. They are one and the same!

     Isaiah 43:10-11

  • "...before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
  • I, even I, AM the Lord; and beside Me THERE IS NO SAVIOUR!"

Without our sins being paid for by the God, as our only Saviour, they must be paid for by us, at the Judgment of the last day! One WAY (John 14:6), or the other, they must be paid.

So, when anyone asks, what's the difference between the Christian Religion, and "ALL" of the others, the clear answer is that, it is the "ONLY" one that truly answers the "Sin question." It is the only faith where the required death for sin, is satisfied. And by Christ's payment for sin, are we made Justified and sinless before God!

     Isaiah 53:11

  • "He shall see the travail of His soul and shall be satisfied; by His knowledge shall My righteous servant justify many, for he shall bear their iniquities".

He satisfied the price for our Iniquity by bearing them Himself! Without which, no one can be righteous to enter the Kingdom of heaven. That is why scripture clearly states, "There is no other name by which men can be Saved." Carnal man may argue with that as he does with "ALL" of God's Word, but nevertheless, it is written, and it is true! Without the penalty of death being paid, no one can be Saved. And without a GODMAN, with us in him as He paid for it, we can't be Saved. And there has only been one GODMAN. The Lord Jesus Christ. No one will have an excuse come judgment day. Not Atheists, not Gnostics, nor Snake Oil Salesmen. For God knows the heart. ..He made it. He knows He put there a inner knowledge of Himself. He put it in man's mind, and in Creation so that there is no excuse. Where man knows nothing, God knows everything. He knows the difference between the Soul and the spirit, one Star and another, and all the things of creation which man can merely theorize about.

Once again. It's a matter of Belief. I believe that. All true Christians Believe that. That's what faith is. Many unbelievers (and indeed unbelieving yet professing Christians), say they are sick and tired of religions saying they are the only true religion. ..Why? God says there is only one name whereby men can be Saved, can we say anything less and be of Christ? That claim of only one true Religion has to be examined in light of scripture and considered. Sin has to be paid for, and someone has to do it. Besides you yourself, ONLY Christ can! ..end of debate about religions. They all come up short 'compared' to the faith of Christ! The Christian faith!

Sure we're distressed to hear religions deceiving people into thinking if they worship a cow they'll be happy in the hereafter. Or if they kill many people in the battlefield, they'll please god/allah whomever, and be in glory. We're mournful seeing people worship statues, smoke hallucinogenic leaves, talking to supposed spirits, praying to the dead, praying in vain repetitions, drinking blood, getting in touch with their Psychic hot line, arming themselves and going up to a mountain to wait for God, etc., etc. All in the name of some god that will supposedly bring them happiness when they die. Do I judge these people? No, That's God's job. But I can tell you that none of this is the Gospel truth. Our Job is to spread the gospel of truth that they would at least hear the Word. Tell them what the Lord God says, that's what we're commissioned to do. We're Witnesses! If they will hear, well and good. If not, it's all in God's hands. The Worst and the best that we can tell them is what God says. For the Word is judgment, and their Salvation. There is no other name whereby men may be Saved. I don't condemn them, I witness in Truth that maybe "a chosen few" may hear. If not, the Word itself will condemn them, as God is in control. He knows those who are His Lost sheep and who are not, and he'll seek them out and bring them in one way or another.

No doubt all Christians will be spoken evil of, and reviled for doing this, but so it has always been. Did not our Lord tell us this? We'll count it a Blessing of the Lord. For it is the Spirit of truth, not us, which teaches one, and not the other.

     1st Corinthians 2:12

  • "Now we have received, not the spirit of the World, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might KNOW the things that are freely given to us of God."

Some "know" God's Word and some argue and rationalize it away. That's a given! The Time for Salvation of the world is "NOW!" The time to make our calling and Election sure is now! And there is only one Name, One Way, and only One Saviour. The Saviour, God. The Way, the truth, and the Life!
