| I Wish I wish I were a King. Don't like to be no Clown. A King has a castle that can't be torn down. I wish I were a bird. Don't want to be no cat. A bird sings a song. A cat eats a rat. I wish I were grown up. Don't like to be so small. So, I can go on a journey when I here the call. Dad and Mom I'm happy the way you love me so. Don't want to grow to fast. Growing When I was just a baby, mamma rocked me to and fro. but now it's the wall ruler to check me as I grow. I remember Dad would say you're growing oh so tall. I remember Mamas whispers it won't be long at all. Now that I'm a big kid I wish that I was small. When Mama used to rock me before I got so tall. When I Wake Up I wake up every morning and start my day with prayer. Before I'm I'm through yawning Jesus Christ is there, To love me and to hold me, lets me know it's care. When my day is over, I bow my head and pray. Brings Jesus a little closer, In my heart He'll stay to guide me even further towards heaven every day Before I lay my head down and before I fall asleep. I put on my night gown don't dare to make a peep. Mama's in the next room and Papa's gone to sleep. I say a little prayer my soul the Lord to keep. by William T Hannaford |
