Christmas Is Pagan
By Pastor G. Reckart
The birth of Messieh is a historical fact. The place of his birth is well known. The entire story is found in the book of Luke. What is not found there is the Christmas story. By Christmas we mean the Christmas tree, Santa Claus, reindeer, the sleigh, the toys, the elves, the mistletoe, the holly, the poinsettias, the exchanging of gifts, the drinking of alcohol, the whoremongering, the festivities and parties, and the turning of homes and Churches into pagan temples.
Christians have always prided themselves in living by the Bible. If Christmas is not a Bible celebration practiced by the Apostles and first Christians, then how did these pagan customs come into the Church? Anyone can go to a library and find this information, but few take the time or even want to know. Many practice Christmas paganism out of pure ignorance. They simply do not know better. They follow the customs of the family or a Church.
Because true Apostolics do not practice paganism, we are often accused of not believing in the birth of Messieh. This is false. Apostolics preach more about the birth of Messieh than any other group. What we refuse to preach is the lie that Jesus was born on December 25th. What we also refuse to accept is the paganism now associated with the birth of Messieh. Apostolics find it abhorrent to take false gods and idols and bring them into the birth story of Jesus. The entire Christmas celebration is a lie. It starts out claiming Messieh was born on December 25th and ends up with Santa Claus, Christmas trees, the doctrine of Balaam, and the doctrine of reincarnation. While Christmas lies are used to excite children and gives adults an excuse to be pagans for a season, it is all the sin of idolatry.
It is time for Christians to remove the untruths out of the birth story of Jesus Messieh. When this is accomplished, we can worship our Lord in Spirit and in Truth. There is no Truth that Jesus was born on December the 25th. To practice the error of Christmas is to depart from the Scriptures and commit idolatry during the Baalmas season. This leads to the practice of the doctrine of Balaam, eating things sacrificed or commemorated to idols and committing fornication (sexual immorality).
Breaking the first Commandment by celebrating pagan holidays includes eating so-called "holy" meals; decorating with red colors and flowers (the color red from the robe of Zoganes); holiday music set to paganism; dancing; drinking; sacred fires, candles, etc.; whoremongering; gift giving; and among many, even human sacrifices. And, has anyone ever heard of ole Nick being saved or saying anywhere in any forum that Jesus is Messieh? And if he does not isn't he an antichrist? For whoever does not confess that Jesus is come in the flesh, is antichrist!
Mary was the virgin daughter of Heli, of the house and lineage of King David. Heli was the true King of Israel but was not recognized as such because the Romans had installed Herod, a Gentile pagan as king over the Jews. Heli had no sons and Mary was the oldest daughter. When Heli and his wife died, Mary inherited the throne of David as an unrecognized queen. Only queens birth Kings and so at birth, Jesus was born a King of his queen mother (if this is not true, Jesus had no royal lineage since he was NOT Joseph's biological son).
Joseph and Mary were espoused. That is, they were engaged to be married. Unlike modern marriages patterned after Catholic and Protestant Church customs, when a Jewish man and woman desired to be married they became espoused. At the espousal ceremony all the wedding vows were taken. All that remained was for the bridegroom to come to the house of the bride and fetch her away to be his fully wedded wife.
Joseph and Mary said the espousal vows and each went home to await the day when the bridegroom would come fetch his bride. This event took place in the 65th week and 4th year of Daniel's prophecy of the 70 weeks. Mary became excited and wanted to go to her cousin Elizabeth's house near Jerusalem and tell her the news. Before her departure, an angel visited Mary and told her she was to give birth to a son. Mary questioned how this would be possible since she had not known any man:
LUK 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Messieh (BJV).
Mary remembered the words of the prophets concerning the coming of Messieh. All virgins daughters in Israel desired to be his mother. It was talked about quite frequently in Israel in those days. What many failed to grasp was that Messieh was to come through the seedline of King David and not the other families. Mary was not only of the seedline of David, but because her father Heli was the true King of David's lineage, she was the only virgin who qualified to birth Messieh the Prince. Mary accepted the will of God and she conceived that very night by a miracle of the Holy Ghost.
In the hill country of Judea, Elizabeth, the cousin of Mary, had also received a miracle. She had been unable to have children. Her husband Zacharias was a priest of the order of Abia, the 8th of 24 priestly courses (1Chr 24:10). Which means that he had to serve at the Temple the 8th week after Pentecost (Pentecost was the beginning of the Courses each year).
So while Zacharias was in the Temple in mid June, an angel visited him and said his wife Elizabeth would have a son. This son was to be a Nazarite from birth to death. The angel also said this son would be the fore-runner of the Messieh:
LUK 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children , and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just: to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
Zacharias returned home and Elizabeth became with child sometime over the next month. According to the Scriptures she then hid her self for five months. It was in the sixth month of Elizabeth's motherhood that the angel Gabriel came to visit Mary:
LUK 1:24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,
LUK 1:26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
LUK 1:27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
From mid June until mid November was five months. Then, in the month of December, the sixth month, Mary was visited by Gabriel and she became with child. Mary immediately went to the hill country of Judea to tell her cousin Elizabeth about her espousal and the angel's visit.
When they met, the Spirit fell upon them and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost. John, who was still in Elizabeth's womb was also filled with the Holy Ghost (Luke 1:15, 41). Elizabeth prophesied (not preached):
LUK 1:43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
There was excitement and as both Elizabeth and Mary edified and comforted one another about John and the coming Messieh. The terminology of Elizabeth by saying *MY LORD* can mean nothing other than *MY KING.* Mary remained with Elizabeth until March, or about three months and returned to her home town in Nazareth:
LUK 1:56 And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.
It was in the middle of the year that the Roman Emperor decreed that the Jews would pay a special tax that fell at the harvest time of the year. Each family was required to return to the city from which their families descended. Joseph and Mary both were descended from King David and so both would be required to go to Bethlehem and pay their taxes. It was at this time that Joseph decided to go fetch Mary as his bride and they could take their honey moon in Bethlehem.
When Joseph came to get Mary, there was a beautiful swelling in her tummy indicating that the Messieh was soon to be born. She told Joseph that she had not been unfaithful and that her motherhood was a miracle from God. She no doubt explained about the visit of Gabriel. Perhaps Mary shed many tears as her bridegroom walked away saying he would not consummate the marriage, but was going to divorce her (sexual immorality after the espousal vows was considered adultery or breaking the covenant vows).
That night, while Joseph thought upon these events he fell asleep. Mary was no doubt praying for her espoused husband:
MAT 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
Joseph got up the next morning and went back to get Mary. You can imagine the tender embraces and the excitement that flowed between them as they packed for the long trip to Bethlehem. Because one of the qualifications of the Messieh was to be born of a virgin, Joseph and Mary did not come together until after Jesus was born:
MAT 1:24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
MAT 1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
Because many were traveling to pay their taxes, the Inn at Bethlehem was full. The time was fulfilled and we are now in the 65th week and 5th year of Daniel's 70 week prophecy. The birth of Messieh was nine months after Mary's December visitation, and was in the month of September (perhaps on the very day of atonement to signify the birth of the Lamb to take away the sins of the world).
This is proven not only by the fact that Mary became with child in the sixth month of Elizabeth's motherhood, but by two other facts. First, Jesus was thirty three and a half years old when he was crucified. He was crucified on Passover in March or the month Nisan. Counting six months forward or backward would arrive at the birth month of Jesus in September. Second, there were shepherds abiding in the fields the night Jesus was born. The month of October brings rain and a cold north winds. Flocks were brought in from the fields toward the end of September. This proves that a winter December date for the birth of Messieh is impossible. One other point of importance is, that if Mary became with child in the month of December, the sixth month of Elizabeth's motherhood, how could Jesus also be born in December?
Jesus was the manchild of Revelation 12:5. Anyone who says he is not is perverting the Word of God. Who then birthed the manchild? Who was pregnant with him? Who cried and pained to be delivered? If the manchild is a flesh and blood physical person, then a flesh and blood physical mother gave him birth. Who is this? It is Mary. Mary is the woman clothed with the sun and who has the moon under her feet. What does this mean? It means the same thing as found in Genesis when the sun and moon were created. These were given to rule the day and the night. So the sun and moon represent the power of rule and authority. Mary being clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet means the same thing, power to rule and have authority. She is given by God rule and authority in the seed of David to birth the Messieh. The crown of 12 stars signifies she is the queen of the 12 tribes of Israel. She births a manchild who is to rule all nations. From whence does the manchild receive this power and authority of David's seed? He receives it from the royalty of his mother. Therefore, unlike other kings who were anointed or appointed king, Jesus was born King. God gave Jesus the throne of David, but Mary gave him the royal birth to qualify him for this gift. God could NOT GIVE the throne of David to a person who was not of the royal seed!
Jesus received the inheritance of David's throne through the royal seedline of his mother. Anyone who disagrees with this is antichrist. For whomsoever denies Jesus is come in the flesh (the seed of David at birht through Mary) is antichrist!
Mary gave to Jesus the right of Messiehship by the lineage of her flesh and blood to David. Because of this right of heirship God could then give to Jesus the throne of David as was prophesied in Luke 1:32. Could God give Jesus the throne if he was not the seed of David? No! Could God give the throne to Jesus if he was born of some other virgin not of David's seed? No! God swore to David in Psalms 132:11 and said he would not turn from it. He would come and sit on David's throne in the flesh that came from his lions. Mary was of the flesh of the lions of David and therefore she qualified to birth the King of Israel into the world. Mary does represent all Israel. Since she was queen of Israel. The crown of 12 stars proves that. But Israel as a nation DID NOT BIRTH JESUS. Some claim this information converts or makes a person a Catholic. This is false. It is bearing false witness in order to set aside the Apostle's Doctrine on the role of Mary in the royal Messiehship of Jesus. Others may duck this, run and hide, but Pastor Reckart will not!
The manchild is Jesus and he was born in Bethlehem. The queen of Israel was in Bethlehem, as a daughter and female seed of Zion, she travailed and birthed the manchild. The manchild is God manifest in the flesh. Neither Israel as a nation or the Church birthed the manchild as God manifest in the flesh. All someone has to do is prove that! The absence of such proofs defaults back to Mary with thundering applause!
Now that the manchild is born, watch as Revelation 12 unfolds and the dragon, the devil, uses the seven head and ten horn system to devour him as soon as he is born. We see how as soon as Jesus was born, there was a plot by Herod (one of the seven heads) to have him killed. Herod was one of the seven heads, Herod lineage kings of Israel, under the ten horn rulers of the Roman Empire (from Augusta to Titus). As soon as Jesus was born the devil stirred up death threats against the manchild out of Jerusalem. But his mother and Joseph take him and flee through the desert wilderness down to Egypt. The woman and the manchild flee. This cannot be Israel or the Church because Israel as a nation did not flee anywhere with the manchild. The Church did not flee anywhere with the manchild. The Church did not come into existence until nearly 34 years later. What a beautiful marvel that the wise men would being at the right time "gold, frankincense, and myrrh. " With these vaulable and costly donations, the family was sustained in fulfillment of the words "and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God." During the life of the Messieh, Israel as a nation did not flee like this. And the Church not yet existing, ...could not! Finally, there is no mention or record the woman is a group of people who might represent Israel or the Church. The woman who fled is Mary. Mary is the queen of Israel as Revelation 12 lets us see by Apostle's Doctrine sealed in prophecy. We now know from Luke the family fled through the desert wilderness down some where in the Egypt wilderness and stayed there at a place God protected until Herod was dead. You can read more about the manchild in our prophetic studies. See also our study Mary Was Not A Catholic.
After Jesus was born, he was laid in a manger. Angels announced to the shepherds:
LUK 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David the Savior, which is Messieh the Lord (BJV).
The shepherds came and worshiped him. The wise men did not find Jesus in the manger or the stable. They found Jesus approximately two years later in a house:
MAT 2:10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
MAT 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child (not an infant) with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
With these valuable donations, the family could live for the three and a half years 1,260 days, until Herod died. We would not know how long they were in Egypt if it was not for this prophecy. It is interesting that the PUBLIC ministry of three and a half years of Jesus life 1,260 days is exactly the same as the time he spent HIDDEN in Egypt. Also interesing is that prophecy speaks of Jesus as Israel coming up out of Egypt (see Hos 11:1 and then the Apostle's Doctrine showing this in Mat 2:15). And more interesting, is that the Church will endure 1,260 days exactly of the future tribulation before Jesus returns again. Coincidence, chance, Pastor Reckart playing the numbers game, OR TRUTH?
MAT 2:16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.
The Scriptures say the wise men came into the house not into a stable. To teach the wise men came into a stable and put on plays or skits to show this falsehood is to represent a lie. Christmas makes liars out of Pastors, Churches, Church members, and parents. You will also notice that it does not say there were three wise men. This is also a lie. Gold, frankincense, and myrrh does not mean one gift per wise man, but that each gave all three gifts. When the wise men did not report the location of the new King back to Herod, Herod ordered all male children two years old and younger in that area to be killed. This proves the wise men came to the birth of Jesus almost two years after his birth or Herod would have focused on killing children much younger and older.
This is the simple Bible story of the birth of Messieh. Please notice there was no Christmas tree associated with it. There was no Santa Claus. There was no flying sleigh filled with toys. There was no Mrs. Santa Claus and a band of elves working feverishly at the North Pole. The wise men did not exchange gifts among themselves, they gave them to Jesus. There were no drunken, filthy talking, men and women having a barn party. Joseph and Mary did not cook up a wild boar's head for a sumptuous meal of hog jaws and pork brains.
The idea of a bearded wonder with an "all seeing eye," makes Santa Claus into not only a spirit god who is every where beholding the good and the bad, he actually replaces Jesus Messieh and stands superior to him during the Christmas Paganalia.
When Jesus was born it was such a holy event God saw fit that sinners would not witness it. Sinners are to witness Messieh upon the cross, not in the manger. The manger scene does not invoke condemnation of sin, and for this reason, sinners will practice Christmas and deny the work of the Cross and salvation year after year. They are caught up in the Christmas spirit, knowing full well it is not the Holy Ghost Spirit stirring up the pagan festival in society and among merchants and liquor distributors.
If the paganism of Christmas did not begin at the birth of Messieh and was not practiced by the Apostles and early Christians, then where did it come from? You may be shocked to learn that Christmas Paganalia has its roots in Mystery Babylon. If that does not scare you, then read Revelation chapter 17 and see the judgments of God upon those in Mystery Babylon just before the second coming of Jesus.
Anyone who tries to justify Christmas Paganism by what ever excuse, will certainly stand before God and be questioned about idolatry. This writer can not judge who will or who will not go to hell over this issue. This one thing I do know, if a man or woman receives the knowledge of Truth about paganism and they reject it, there remaineth no more sacrifice for the sin of idolatry (Hebrews 10:26). The kool-aid cowboy writer had better take heed!
This Bible Study is not written to judge those who are already dead. If those who are dead knew about Christmas paganism and did not repent and forsake it, then God must judge them as idolaters. If the dead did not know and were never told about Christmas paganism, then God will judge them based upon the faith they would have followed had they known. God knows faith and sincerity based upon a person's past love of Truth. This Bible Study is written for the living, that they not follow the practices of dead ancestors who may have never known the Truth. Our salvation is not in dead ancestors idolatry, it is in the Truth that will save us through our Lord Jesus Messieh. Ye shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you free. Many will go to hell because they rejected the Truth that Christmas Paganism was of the heathens.
The evidence will prove to any honest heart that Christmas is pagan and has no place within the Messiehian Church. Can Christians become pagans during the twenty one days of Christmas and forget the first Commandment to have no other gods?
It is often alleged that Christmas paganism is good for the children. This is false? Should children in a Messiehian home be told about paganism? Were Jewish children under the Law deprived of participating in the pagan idolatrous festivals of Baal? Were Jewish families commanded not to practice the pagan holiday festivals of the unbelieving Gentiles around them? Where is there a single Biblical passage that permits the mingling of paganism with the ways of God? If some paganism is acceptable, why not all of it? Are we not told to come out from among them (pagans) and touch not the unclean thing made profane by idolatry? If we are to be a separated and thus a holy people, how can we maintain this testimony by joining idolatrous paganalia, going to drunken parties, setting up idols in the home, and hanging the weavings of the sodomites as wreaths upon our doors (2Kings 23:7)? Wreaths on doors symbolizes someone has died here or the occupants are mourning a death. How did the death-wreath become associated with a birth, except in the paganalia mysteries where dead Baal-Nimrod was celebrated as coming back from the dead and reborn, celebrated also as the re-birth of the sun from the dead waning days of winter? All the symbols of Paganalia should be examined to see what they symbolize.
With this information an individual can then determine if they are pagan, part pagan, or a true Messiehian. One thing is certain, no one who completes this Bible Study can say they never knew, and please don't write to me your negativity and justification for being pagans and you are going to convert paganism to worship God with.
Each Minister must get the blood of souls off his hands by proclaiming the Truth, however uncomfortable it makes him or those that hear him. Each father must take the oversight in his home and sanctify it to the glory of Messieh. Even as God forbid the Tabernacle to be filled with paganism, so each father should guard his home as a sacred tabernacle where his family is kept apart from all evil. The home is the sanctuary of the family. Do not pollute it or Messieh is not *Lord* there! If a person decides to remain indifferent and without respect to the Word of God, and continues to practice Christmas Paganism, they have no place in the house of God masquerading as holy Saints of the Most High.
Saints are holy ones. They have godly or God-like conducts. They are holy by virtue of the righteousness of God imputed to them. These individuals serve God in the beauty of holiness and love of Truth. The way of sin or paganalia they will not follow. They are God's sheep and he is their Shepherd. They will not give or share God's glory to or with ole Nick. Overcoming sin, evil, and paganism, victoriously; they will be given white robes of righteousness when they get to heaven.
Above is a tiny clay cylinder seal found in Babylon. It depicts Adam and Eve sitting at the tree of knowledge of good and evil. There are two gift fruits "under" the tree, one for each. The serpent is behind Eve whispering into her ear to take the gift of fruit under the tree and give it to Adam as a sweetheart gift. Here the devil is acting as a an instructor and spiritual advisor instructing Eve how nice and beautiul the gifts under the tree were to look upon. Here is the first time "gift giving" is celebrated with a tree in the Bible. Notice that the tree even has the appearance of an evergreen Christmas tree. The celebration of gift giving associated with trees cannot be denied to have started as pictured above on this ancient seal. Has the devil disasociated himself from religious holidays and worship centered around evergreen trees? In the Old Testament, tree worship continuing this ancient mystery is found all over the place (Jeremiah 10). God commaned that the Israelites were not to plant a tree near unto the altar, to prohibit this paganized ceremony renactment within the religion of God. If anyone dare to try and say they have the wisdom or the ability to Christianize this paganism by injecting the birth of Jesus into it to make it holy, let that person be Anathema Maranatha.
The Christmas tree has an ancient history many centuries before Messieh was born. The veneration and worship of trees as reincarnated died human beings is as ancient as Babylon, the beginning of false religion.
In the Bible, the worship of these sacred trees is called the worship of the grove. The pagans would build their temples on high places and then plant the sacred trees representing reincarnation near their altars. The *hex* or *hexagram* became a symbol of their high places and the ritual. It remains so among the occult to this very day who trace their emblems and rituals to this ancient religion. All of this was strictly forbidden by God:
DEU 16:21 Thou shalt not plant thee a grove of any trees near unto the altar of the LORD thy God, which thou shalt make thee.
We may notice by the above verse that there was to never be any tree planted (or set up) near the altar of God. This was to keep pagan idols and false gods thought to be reincarnated in trees, from ever having a place anywhere near the worship of the true God.
Up until the time of modern liberalism (since the mid 1800's), the grove was understood to be several evergreen trees planted in a circle and the temple laid out in the form of a hex (see Stonehenge), and therein re-enact the mysteries they believed started in Eden with the serpent and Eve. So these high places and groves were a make believe Eden. The holiness of sin Ministers (certain sins not sin any more), changed the interpretation of the grove from that of sacred evergreen trees to a totem pole. Many Bible Dictionaries and Commentaries have since the mid 1800s led many to unknowingly adopt the Nimrod Baalmas Bush as a symbol of reincarnation to be set up along side the manger of Messieh.
